My background
My interest in health began long before my training. Family experiences with chronic illness sparked an early curiosity about the factors that influence health and longevity. As a collegiate athlete in football and lacrosse, that interest grew into a fascination with human performance, recovery, and the body's remarkable ability to adapt, and eventually into a deeper desire to understand why some people recover and thrive while others continue to struggle despite doing everything they can.

That curiosity led me to Bastyr University, where I earned my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree, with an education emphasizing nutrition, lifestyle, botanical approaches, and systems-based thinking about health. More than anything, it challenged me to look beyond diagnoses and ask deeper questions about resilience and recovery.
Why do some people recover and thrive, while others continue to struggle despite doing everything they can?
I then completed my residency at the UC Irvine Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute and later remained as an attending naturopathic doctor. During my years at UCI, I worked alongside specialists while caring for patients with a wide range of complex and chronic conditions. I saw firsthand the strengths of modern medicine, particularly in acute care and diagnostics, while also recognizing how challenging it can be when symptoms persist despite extensive evaluation.
What I've come to believe
Early in my career, I believed the key to helping patients was finding the right diagnosis, the right lab test, or the right treatment. Over time, I came to appreciate that meaningful healing often requires a broader perspective.
Health is frequently more complex than any single diagnosis, laboratory result, or treatment plan.
The body is constantly adapting to the environment it experiences. Symptoms, lab findings, life circumstances, relationships, stress, nutrition, sleep, and environmental exposures are all pieces of the same story. My work is to understand how those pieces fit together and help you identify the factors most influencing your health.

“Instead of asking only what disease a person has, I ask what their body has been adapting to.” — Dr. Michael Palladino, ND

Dr. Palladino has been incredibly helpful with his thoughtful care while I navigated long COVID — MCAS, ME/CFS, and POTS. So glad to have found this care, and it's important that you can access it virtually in California with these complex needs.
